Privacy policy

Your video never leaves your PC. Only extracted audio is transmitted for transcription. ClipTitle does not permanently store your video or audio on its servers.

What happens when you transcribe

• ClipTitle opens your video locally. The video file is never uploaded.
• FFmpeg, running on your PC, extracts a compact audio track from the video.
• Only that audio is sent over HTTPS to ClipTitle's server (cliptitle.com), which streams it to our transcription provider (Google Gemini API) and returns the transcript with word timestamps.
• ClipTitle's server does not write your audio to disk, keep it in a database or create links to it. The audio uploaded to the provider for processing is deleted as soon as transcription finishes. The provider processes it under its own data-use terms.
• The transcript is sent back to your PC. ClipTitle's server does not keep transcript text.

What we store

• An internal customer ID linked to your Microsoft Store purchases, and an installation ID for each PC you use.
• Subscription status, credit balances and an immutable credit ledger (for billing accuracy).
• Transcription metadata: date, audio duration, file size, detected languages, word count, cost and status — never audio or transcript text.
• Security records such as IP addresses of API requests and abuse signals, kept to protect the service.

Purchases

Payments are handled by the Microsoft Store. We never receive your card or payment details. Our server verifies your purchases directly with Microsoft.

Your choices

You can use ClipTitle's editing and export features without transcription. To request deletion of your ClipTitle data, contact [email protected] from the app's Help menu, which includes your customer ID.
